There is nothing very sophisticated, but there are good traditional dishes in generous portions and at competitive prices. The location is worth it: We have the feet in the sand and we have lunch facing the sea. The staff knows how to make the guests feel at ease.

It's aptly named. It is indeed in this former printing house (typografio in Greek) that the daily Foni Naxou-Parou ("The Voice of Naxos-Paros") was born in 1925, which has now disappeared. Spread over three modern terraces around a beautiful six-century old building, this restaurant is considered to be "the" reference to Naxos, a mixture of Hellenic and Mediterranean flavours. The menu is creative, based on regional products. Some waiters speak French. Very good wine list. Reservation recommended. Not to be missed!

It never stops... Open all day long from breakfast, from 10 or 11 am, to the evening with a cocktail bar. The two terraces overlook the port: perfect for a drink in front of the sunset. It serves wine and 24 different cocktails, as many letters in the Greek alphabet. Its name comes from the first three numbers on the bar codes of products made in Greece. One of the best places on the island to eat as well: all the ingredients are fresh and most of them are organic.

In the maze of the Kastro - a veritable labyrinth - you can find this restaurant by following the signs and above all your instincts and the indications of passers-by. In the evening, the inner courtyard has a very special atmosphere, calm and romantic, with candles and jazzy music. Impeccable service, a warm welcome, attention to detail, and above all gastronomy have made the place one of our favourites. The traditional Greek cuisine rubs shoulders with the originality of the chef, and you can order very good wines to accompany the meal.

On the beach of Plaka, this superb restaurant with its elaborate decoration offers an ideal setting to stay for more than just a meal. On the kitchen side, here again of the very high level. The use of fresh Naxiot and Cretan products has created a unique gastronomic place, creating a fusion cuisine of these regions. The result of this culinary originality is exquisite, the service impeccable and the setting simply magnificent facing the sea. It also has a concept store next to the restaurant for a few shopping sprees.

A real favorite in the middle of a very varied offer, it is true, but often disappointing. A good general indication: the restaurant is still mainly frequented by Greek customers. He offers a small menu with good products (lamb in the oven, local cheeses in saganaki, octopus salads and squid). Also very appreciated by many readers of Le Petit Futé!

Local atmosphere guaranteed in this restaurant located in the heart of Halki and perhaps one of the best tables on the island of Naxos. The setting is idyllic, under the climbing vine arbour, directly on the small square in the heart of the village, a stone's throw from all the pretty shops and galleries. The menu is not bad either with its spanakopites (spinach pies) and Naxos sausage spestofaï. Attention: the restaurant is taken by storm by Greek families and it is often necessary to arrive before 7:30 pm to have a table without a reservation.

The restaurant offers local dishes and fresh fish. The evening meal on the beach is a marvel with a sunset and beautiful colors. On the menu: souvlakis, tzatziki, tarama, moussaka, zucchini fritters, gemista (eggplant or peppers stuffed with rice or minced meat) and other fish. The base, that is. But the dishes are prepared with care and the view of the beach is sublime. The owners, Nikos and Maria, also offer, in the same place, some studios and apartments. Good value for money.

Once located on the harbour, it was one of the first restaurants to open for tourists. The same team always offers excellent Greek specialities, stuffed aubergines aubergines, stifados (onion beef with tomatoes), fresh swordfish with lemon… We're going to choose its dish from the day in the window at the bottom of the room. Some servers speak French. The prices are very correct. Breakfast in the morning.

At the same time restaurant, cocktail-bar and café, this place serves suitable Greek and international cuisine. Incidentally, it is above all the most beautiful terrace on the island with a breathtaking view. Discover it for lunch or simply for a coffee break. If dinner gets a little chilly, we even bring you a plaid. The food is clearly not very expensive, but drinks are not given. We advise you to book in August, especially at sunset, when the place fills up at a crazy pace.

A small family tavern that serves authentic Greek cuisine, with some specialities prepared by the chef. We eat outside, in the middle of the quiet village, on a terrace with a view or under a huge plane tree, imposing and magnificent. There is even a table that sits above a small white church; it is a perfect place to enjoy this extraordinary and picturesque setting. The service is original: the water bottle is brought in a kind of large bucket. The staff is as efficient as it is friendly.

An attractive alternative on the port, where you can enjoy traditional Italian cuisine. Specialities such as bruschetta, but also more classic dishes: spaghetti with seafood for example. Gluten-free dishes are also available on request. Susanna, the owner of the establishment, decorated the premises with great taste. A unique table on the balcony on the first floor, with a breathtaking view of the port, which must be booked in advance.

Where to eat a €2 skewer with a view? If there is a place in Chora Naxos to eat well and cheaply, it's here! Beware, the plates are very copious (Naxos and Kozi salads are a treat, as well as pita breads...). In a relaxed atmosphere, they serve a multitude of grilled meats, Greek tapas and vegetarian dishes. With its large terrace overlooking the beach and Apollo's Gate, it is also an ideal place not to be missed to contemplate the sunset.

Opened in 2012, this tavern-ouzerie which overlooks the quays (it can be reached either from the port by a small staircase or by the alley parallel to the port) is a real museum. The owner, Nikos, revives this family place where meat specialities prepared according to the traditional local method are served: wrapped in butcher's paper(sto ladoharto in Greek, literally "greasy paper") and fried (for fish prepared in the same way, you have to go to the Smyneiko restaurant on the ground floor).

The elegant marble and wooden building of the restaurant was built in 1844 in the area of Paraporti in the town of Naxos, a place where peasants worked in the service of the Venetian conquerors of the island. Paraporti was the second most important south-north entrance to the Naxos Castle area. Outside, on the two terraces, you can enjoy the view of the harbour and start the day with a healthy breakfast, and of course taste the local specialities.

Refined cuisine and breathtaking views... You can have lunch or dinner there, and enjoy the beach at its feet. Like the sophisticated hotel it depends on, this restaurant with gastronomic impulses is also one of the best on the island with notably very good fresh fish to choose from in the kitchen. Without being a guest of the hotel, one can come here for a madness (a lobster) or for a more affordable seafood risotto preceded, for example, by a carpaccio of octopus... And each time, the friendliness of the staff is remarkable.

It's like the tavern sitting on the beach, abandoned. Opened in the 1960s, at the foot of the rocks, this tavern, which remained in its original state, is crowded in summer. Here, the keftedes (meatballs from Kostas) are famous as well as its jugs of local wines. An unmissable address at the end of the beach.

George, the young creator of this restaurant, which opened in 2014, has very quickly managed to share his enthusiasm and his talent as a cook. And despite its location slightly set back from the harbour, it fills up every night. Simple but delicious cuisine, with a clever mix of local products and flavours. Special mention for the meats. Professional staff. Prices are very affordable. Do not hesitate to ask to meet him and share his kindness. The establishment also runs the Anoi Bar Bistro upstairs, with a rooftop.

After the now famous Cavo d'Oro in Paros, opened in 1980, here is the new restaurant designed by Adonis Vassilas, located in the beautiful village of Filoti, in Naxos this time. On the menu side, a tasty Greek and Italian cuisine made from fresh and local ingredients (all products are grown on the island). Pizza cooked over a wood fire (5 sizes are possible!), fresh pasta, salads, mezzes, grills, seafood and traditional Greek dishes to satisfy all tastes. This establishment, attached to a butcher's shop, is an institution. On Sundays, the animals cook here on a spit and intoxicate passers-by. Of course, you have to love meat! But the restaurant also allows you to eat on the go a souvlaki or a gyros to take away.
