The New Theatre offers a wide range of performances to suit all tastes and ages, from plays to musicals, ballets and comedy shows. Some performances are in foreign languages or in Welsh, but always with English surtitles. Sarah Bernhardt, Laurel and Hardy, and Anna Pavlova are just some of the international celebrities to have graced the stage of this illustrious theater, open since 1906. The Wales Millennium Centre aims to be one of Europe's largest stages, as well as a major venue for the promotion of Welsh artistic life. Since its opening in November 2004, the Wales National Ballet has held rehearsals here. Cardiff Bay Arts Centre attracts a wide range of audiences, with each venue offering a different program and reasonably priced tickets. On-site café-restaurant. Fine exhibitions are regularly held here, and admission is free.

Craft beers are booming in Cardiff, and BrewDog, open since 2014, was at the forefront of this renewed interest! You'll feel right at home in this industrial yet cosy setting, where blondes, browns and reds, accompanied by tasty treats, are well worth a visit. On the food front, you'll find classic pub fare: burgers (with good vegetarian options!) and salads. Or you can simply opt for snacks to share while sipping your pint. Opened at the end of 2016, this cocktail bar is simply stunning! Tasting begins with the eyes: bold, original and spectacular, its decor is already worth the detour. Once you're seated, you can choose your drink from a selection of carefully-crafted cocktails, freshly prepared from natural ingredients. One of Cardiff's trendiest spots! You can nibble on a few snacks, usually plates to share. And from time to time, they even organize Martini brunches from Friday to Sunday (12:30, 14:30, 16:30).

A handsome, wood-panelled pub dating back to the 1880s, once shared by dockers, miners and prostitutes. Close to Principality Stadium, it has always been a popular meeting place for rugby fans. The City Arms is the place to be from pre-match until the third half! No cooking here... Just plenty of beer! The staff are friendly and smiling, and you're in for a great night out, especially if there's rugby on.

Popular atmosphere in this typical pub where you can eat on the go and in a garden if the weather permits. To eat, the schedules change a little, from Monday to Saturday 12h-21h and Sunday 12h-18h. The atmosphere is white-hot on match nights - broadcast on six large screens. It is not uncommon to come across "The King", the Welsh rugby legend Barry John. Very good atmosphere in this relaxed pub, where you quickly find yourself drinking your pint standing at the bar talking to everyone!

The Chapter Arts Centre is an arts center located in Canton, Cardiff, Wales. Opened in 1971, it offers a variety of shows and artistic events. The center has an auditorium and a café-bar. The center is run by Hannah Firth and Sharon Stone, with Rory Duckhouse as assistant to the directors. The programming team includes Hannah Firth as Artistic Director, Claire Vaughan as Head of Film Programming, Sim Panaser as Curator of Visual Art, Kit Edwards as Curator of Performance, Arron Singh as Head of Community Engagement, Molly Harcombe as Programming Assistant and Tom Betts as Head of BFI Film Academy Plus. The center also has a marketing team, an IT team, a technical team, a finance team, a human resources team, a facilities and studio management team, a business development and fundraising team, and a café-bar team. Chapter Arts Centre is a registered charity and company in England and Wales.

There are just a few tables inside this little café, but the terrace extends under the arcades, so you can sit there in all weathers. Its central location just a few steps from the castle and its delicious pastries make it a must in Cardiff city center. This independent café, right next to St Davids shopping center, offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of this busy neighborhood. Filled with regulars, Little Man Coffee welcomes you every day for tea, coffee or even a beer. A studious atmosphere, conducive to relaxation, with many students and teleworkers here. The staff are warm and welcoming, and you'll immediately feel at home and want to settle in. For those in a hurry, all drinks and pastries are available to eat in or take away.

The construction of this beautiful half-timbered house is estimated at the beginning of the 18th century. The facade gives a Tudor look. A "rummer" is a large glass or cup for wine. As you can see, the atmosphere here is relaxed. Beware, many employees and customers would have already seen ghosts! The place is particularly popular during the retransmissions of sporting events where the good atmosphere reigns with very good energy if Wales comes out the winner! Possibility to nibble a piece or eat a more substantial dish.

Metros is a deep, long, low-ceilinged, partially lit room with a tunnel-like feel. The crowd is young, grungy, rock'n'roll. This club, established since 1992, is for you if you like rock, the alternative scene and a playlist that very often tends towards heavy metal music at some point in the evening. Indie music, baggy beats and cheap beer: this is the place! With its student atmosphere and friendly staff, it's sure to be a good night out with friends.

The Sherman Theatre presents a classical English repertoire as well as plays in Welsh. There are shows for children and families, comedy, dance... It reopened its doors in 2012 following a major refurbishment: new seats, creation of various public areas... From Monday to Saturday, you can also enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the café-bar. The atmosphere here is intended to be trendy and targets a clientele that may be older than the St. Mary's neighbourhood. The club is divided into two floors, each containing two rooms with their respective bars. All of them are spacious, decorated in a rather designer way and in different atmospheres. You can choose between the "jewel bar" and its cosy luxury atmosphere, Decadia and its games and street atmosphere, "blanca bar" the champagne bar corner or Kanaloa for a more island atmosphere. The music is quite heterogeneous: funk, R'n'B, pop..

Opened in 1983, this popular cultural venue is often referred to as the "Welsh Club". Indeed, many "Welsh" and live Welsh music perform there, but also gigs and jam sessions... We come to dance and get in the mood for disco, electro pop or boogie nights. The programming is nice and we're having a good time. For many Cardiff residents, it is one of the capital's must-see nightlife spots. And to complete all this, there is a good team on site, good cocktails and beers at reasonable prices.

The former streetcar depot in the west of the Welsh capital has been transformed to become the home of this arts and entertainment venue. People come here for all kinds of shows: live radio broadcasts, sport, music, dance... In terms of location, it's close to Cardiff station and within easy walking distance of the city center. With its relaxed atmosphere and friendly welcome, Tramshed is always a good place to spend an evening! Plus: the venue isn't too big, so you can make the most of the concerts.

Easily accessible, this ambitious arts center includes no less than three cinemas, three art galleries and a theater housing two companies, with a bar and restaurant. It's one of Britain's largest arts centers, with a rather modern program. The Anglo-Saxon fashion is for Broadway-style musicals, and the town often plays host to London-based troupes breaking new ground here. And Chapter's history lasts, since in 2021, we celebrated our 50th anniversary!

Near Roath Park, this café (attached to the Fish & Field restaurant which, by the way, is also worth a visit) is a hidden gem, admittedly a little out of the way, but well worth the effort! Trendy decor, smiling service and a relaxed atmosphere. You can enjoy good coffees, ice creams and vegetarian and gluten-free creations at one of the tables or in the comfortable armchairs. You take your time and enjoy the place and what it has to offer. The welcome is perfect, and if you need any help or advice, they're on hand.

Original setting - like an industrial warehouse - and lively, with huge tanks of artisanal beers that feed directly into the pints. This brewery is known for its tasty unfiltered and unpasteurized beers. Perfect if you then go to the Principality Stadium just across the street. If you're hungry, you'll be tempted by small appetizers such as Cajun shrimp, fried squid... Before attacking mussels, pizza, pasta or a variety of risottos. And we even let ourselves be tempted to try mango beer at the same time.
