The Café Romand is the heir to the golden age of the great Lausanne brasseries, and one of the last authentic pints in the canton of Vaud. Sitting in a typical wooded setting of yesteryear, you will enjoy traditional dishes as well as omelettes, sandwiches and soups. The Café Romand, which has existed since 1951, is an institution in Lausanne. The service could be more pleasant, but its roughness is part of the décor! Its large bay window illuminates this old painting with a thousand lights to add a pleasant touch of modernity.

On the Vaud Riviera, in a former art gallery, La Galerie offers an enchanting setting and view of Lake Geneva, with a magnificent terrace. Favoring local producers and lake fish, chef Jérémie Cordier, rated 15/20 by Gault & Millau, transforms dishes into works of art, fusing flavors, textures and colors. The plate becomes a canvas on which the chef expresses his creativity. Every mouthful is a gustatory voyage.

Facing the lake, between the tourist office and the landing stage, Le Métropole boasts one of the most remarkable locations. Divided into two rooms, you can either enjoy a drink in the bar area, or sample delicious Swiss specialities or pizzas in the brasserie. But what we really appreciate is the large terrace that welcomes us all year round, allowing us to admire the magnificent scenery and relax. Of course, because of its strategic position, the place is very busy day and night.

It's a charming little neighborhood bistro, a place for regulars who come in the morning for their coffee, or a place to discover. Mr. Louvier is the chef at Le P'tit Carougeois, serving delicious perch fillets with homemade fries. The dishes are simple, traditional and regional, and there's a great menu for meat lovers. Two small terraces on the street or garden side await customers. Open on Saturday evenings in November and December during Carouge's many events.

The Genevans like to come and enjoy a good glass of ice cream as soon as the first rays of sunshine in May warm up the Place du Bourg du Four. Known for its large terrace, this brand offers a small restaurant serving salads, sandwiches, focacciasand toast for lunch. It is also a good address for a plate of pasta with a choice of spaghetti carbonara with a sauce made according to the rules of the art, from penne to salmon. An envious place for a break in the old town and from here you can even see the top of the water jet!
