When to go Gironde ?

Bordeaux Fête le Vin, Foire aux Plaisirs, Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc, SunSka festival, Montgolfiades de Saint-Émilion, Fête de la Morue, Escale du Livre... Many great events for young and old punctuate the Gironde's calendar of events. All year round, and especially during the summer season, there's always something to do, see, hear, drink or eat. Ask our tourism professionals for the program!

The Gironde has an oceanic climate. The weather is relatively mild throughout the year with temperatures varying on average from 5 to 7 °C in winter and from 19 to 28 °C in summer. November, December, January and February are quite rainy. The Garonne valley often sees stubborn fog in winter and it is not uncommon to have thick fog in Bordeaux or La Réole and clear sunshine in Cap-Ferret. At the end of the summer, thunderstorms can be violent.
