Visit the Teatro Regio and admire its beautiful curtain depicting by Giovan Battista Borghesi

It was built at the beginning of the 19th century thanks to Marie-Louise of Austria, who wanted the creation of a public theatre. Its façade is neoclassical, and inside there is a beautiful curtain representing The Triumph of Minerva by Giovan Battista Borghesi. Its bright red armchairs, its gilding, its chandelier, its crackling lights invite to the wildest dreams and perfectly expresses the passion for lyric opera that inhabits the Parmesans. Très joli édifice, je n'ai pas assisté à une représentation mais pour le bâtiment en lui-même cela vaut déjà le coup, d'autant qu'il est en plein centre et facile d'accès

Au centre ville, lieu très reposant et si vous avez l'occasion, profitez pour assister à un spectacle ou représentation. Voir le site officiel : www.teatroregioparma.it/ pour les programmes. Pour une ville de cette grandeur, Parme se débrouille très bien.Plutôt chaud en été et étouffant, l'après-midi est propice à la sieste, mais le matin et en fin de journée, la ville grouille d'activités. Le soir aussi, flâner dans les ruelles, se poser à une "osteria" pour l'aperitivo et ensuite manger dans un restaurant local. Je conseille vivement la "torta fritta" avec culatello (charcuterie de prestige) + de nombreuses autres spécialités à découvrir.

A magnificent theatre in the heart of the pretty town of Parma.
You can visit it outside the representations, but to attend a representation of verdi remains the best way to experience this theatre!
