Museum tracing Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions

Housed in a former butcher's shop dating from 1587, the Historical Museum traces Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions. Its 1,700^m2 of exhibits include works of art, figurines, flags, models and much more. The museum offers both chronological and thematic tours: from the Holy Roman Empire to the Reformation, via the royal and revolutionary periods. The highlight of the visit is a 70^m2 relief map dating from 1727, which reproduces the town and its surroundings at 1:⁶⁰⁰ scale.

Excellent musée avec des collections et des thèmes variés, agrémenté de quelques peintures vraiment originales pour l’époque médiévale qui valent à elles seules le détour
