Since 1924, this café has been synonymous with Heraklion's history. In its early days, the establishment, which measures no more than 15m2, served coffee to market traders. Over the years, raki and ouzo, accompanied by a few delicacies, brought together a clientele who flocked to the small tables to catch up on old times. Today, three young chefs are carrying on the tradition with succulent dishes. Don't leave before you've tried the zucchini dumplings and goat's cheese stew... You'll be back again and again, jostling for a seat.

Lovely place in the Market where you can enjoy a carafe of raki or two accompanied by small dishes of authentic Cretan cuisine. The young and cool staff proves that new age Greece comes with tradition in the pocket and a cheeky new entry in the modern world. Well done. I will be going there every time I visit Heraklion…maybe more than once ????

You can't really call it dining I was still starving when I left hahaha. It has a good vibe but is more for a late night social drinking spree with light meze (snacks)

A nice little authentic greek cafe or eating place, with very kind and helpful staff situated in one of the tourist trap streets. I recommend this place!
