When to go Northern Macedonia ?

We recommend spring. As North Macedonia is located very far south in Europe, temperatures are ideal for sightseeing and hiking. In summer, it's very hot, and the country's major site, Ohrid, is full of people. Autumn is quite rainy, but lends itself well to museum visits and wine tastings. Finally, winter can be interesting if you come to take advantage of some of Europe's least expensive ski resorts.

Northern Macedonia has a moderate continental climate, which means hot summers and cold winters. The summer months of June to August are the most popular for visiting Lake Ohrid and the capital, Skopje. Temperatures rise to 30°C, so don't forget your sun cream! For winter sports enthusiasts, the months of December to February are ideal, especially for skiing in Mavrovo National Park. If you prefer more moderate temperatures, spring (April and May) and autumn (September and October) are ideal for hiking and cultural visits.
