The Carrières des Lumières are located at the foot of Les Baux-de-Provence, in the heart of the Alpilles mountains. These immense underground quarries, world-famous for having served as the setting for Jean Cocteau's "Le testament d'Orphée", have been hosting formidable immersive and contemporary exhibitions since 2012. Two new highlights are on offer to visitors from spring 2024. With "Egypt of the Pharaohs. From Khufu to Ramses II", visitors can rediscover the masterpieces of this mythical civilization, with bas-reliefs, ancient papyri and paintings. The Orientalists.
